Earth Day

On Earth Day my mom, my sister and I went out behind our house to the swamp area. We saw lots of trash because people always dump all their trash. There was Styrofoam in the water. That can affect the animals life cycle and their breeding. Animals such as: the river otters, falcons, Great Blue Heron, Canadian Geese, Ducks and many other animals, can swallow and choke on the Styrofoam.  The most common garbage I found was junk food wrappers and containers. The biggest culprit was Nestle; candy wrappers and water bottles. I also saw coffee cups, diapers, Mcdonalds, lots of paper.

We are trying to get a group of people to clean up in the Otter area. I am hoping that we can get 20 or more people monthly to clean up the area.

You could be helping and be a trash picker upper. If you are interested, please email me or leave a comment here.

Crystal

 Me and Crystal
Crystal and CC

I got Crystal from my mom's friend Tammy. When I first held her, she bit me. She didn't do it because she was mean it was because she thought I was food because my finger does kind of look like food. I put Crystal in her clear ball and let her run. She is very fast. I learned from Mommy that Crystal is a female Teddy Bear Hamster. I first thought she was a male, but Mommy went on line and said that Teddy Bear hamsters have differences. Males have a longer skirt of hair around their backsides. Crystal doesn't, so that means she is a female. Crystal likes to eat fruits like blueberries, grapes, strawberries, celery and carrots. Also she likes sunflower seeds and her hamster pellets. She likes to clean herself, which is good because she sleeps in her poo and has brought her food into her pee. Her pee looks like milk, so when you clean her cage, don't lick it.

Me and my Chihuahua

My dogs name is Scooby. He is a Chihuahua. The first day I saw him, I was in Senior Kindergarten. I was so happy I was ready to burst like a rocket ship! He was a rescue and our miracle dog. Last summer, my dog ran out on the street when he saw another dog friend and a car came and hit him. Then he had to go to VEC (Vet Emergency Clinic). It mad me feel sad when I went there because I saw some people with a box, what I learned was an urn, and my mommy told me it was the dogs ashes. I had faith because the car went over him and he did the splits. So it only ran over the back of him. He needed a little cast for his pelvis for a few weeks. But he kept taking it off, I think it was because he didn't like it.
Now he has been home and is good, likes to lick and is very cute. He sleeps with me.

Orcas (Killer Whales)

Orcas are mammals because they give birth to live babies and they feed their babies with milk from their body. They are endangered species. They live in all temperatures of the oceans. These mammals are most at risk for poisons from our toxic waste in the ocean.

When I was almost 3 I went to Sea World. I saw an Ocra then. It lived in captivity. The captive whales have curved fins on top of their bodies. The orcas were playing and did tricks together.

Valentines Day

If the earth was alive, I would ask it to be my valentine because I love the earth so much. I would give the earth some chocolates (enviromentaly friendly and fair trade no nestle chocolates) and a big hug hug. But I can't do that, so instead I will plant a tree when the ground has no snow and isn't hard. I will put a heart on the tree to remind myself that I love this tree for Valentines Day.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

This morning when I woke up, I saw a spider on my canopy. At first I got scared and wanted to kill it but then I realized that it wasn't doing any harm so I just let it stay there. It was only exploring like I do when I explore in the spiders natural habitat, the forest. I don't want to be killed when I go to the forest, so it's only fair I give him the same respect.

My First Blog at 7

I wanted to do this Blog because I thought about nature and the way we all can help nature.  I want to tell people how to keep the earth green and clean.  It is important to me because I see animals choking on trash that people throw out.  They must think it is their own personal dumping space, BUT IT"S NOT!

My friends and I pick up bags and collect trash every Tuesday at school, when my teach is on yard duty.  When I did that, we felt happy because we made a commitment to pick up the trash.

This afternoon, my mom, my sister and I went to the Bird pond to feed the hungry birds who didn't migrate south because people feed them in the spring and summer and they stay because they are used to being fed. They can die if people feed them. They forget to eat the algae in the waters and then the lakes and ponds get green and mucky. The fish don't get enough oxygen and die. The animals could also eat the wrong thing and die.

This week I hope to accomplish picking up all the trash I see at school.
